180 degrees final
This is are final 180 degrees camera film. We went for for a converstaion storyline as it was the easiest and clearest type of story to show the audience the 180 degree rule. In the film lex and Josh are seen talking on the staircase. We started with an establishing shpt to show the area and the two charectors walking up into position. I (Josh Hitch ) was the camera man and Jaymie was the main editor.

180 Degree rule
The 180 degree rule is a fundamental rule in which all film makers must follow in order to keep continuity. The 180 degree rule is used when two character are talking and the camera remains on one side of the action so that the characters who are talking have the same left right relationship. The way they do this is to have and imaginary line across the two people and stay to one side of that line, if you do cross the line it is then known a a reverse shot. The reason why they do this is to keep continuity so that the audience don't become confused and lose the spacial awareness of the scene.
In the youtube link above there is our attempt at the 180 degree rule and i felt that we did ok as we kept
continuity and kept the spacial awareness of the audience.
